Dear Sophia,

Thank you for being a supportive sister and motherly figure in my life. It feels a little weird thanking you for being my sister because we didn't really choose this but I still think that if I had the chance to, I would choose you every time. You have taught me to be independent and strong and for that I thank you because I've used those skills to become the person I am today. You also taught me that in order to achieve great things in life I must work hard and dedicate myself to improving whatever it is I need to.

Now you're probably thinking to yourself, "why am I seeing these pictures in the middle of a sentimental thank you?". Well, like I said, I've used those skills you taught me to become the person I am today and I am using those skills in my 2nd period photography class. These pictures aren't perfect but I am not discouraged and I continue to try and better myself in this class thanks to your encouragement and advice telling me to not give up. I've learned that in order to take a better picture of the quad, I should center my meter. I've learned that forced perspective is so difficult but with the right partner and the perfect exposure and ISO, my picture will be quite a trip. For my last picture, I took that one on my own and edited it to my liking, originally it wasn't that toned and nice, it was much duller and sad. See, I've learned these things because I didn't give up, I kept trying. So, again, thank you for being my sister and thank you for raising me to be someone who keeps trying.

Sincerely,

Jackie Carrillo
